LOL funny
By Shirley
I loved Juliet! She was feisty and funny. Her thoughts and comments were HILARIOUS. I want to quote so many lines but don't want to spoil it for you guys. My favorite scene was the beach scene where she was eating a chocolate bar.
All the characters really stood out and were interesting in their own right. My only "complaint" would be that I wished there was an epilogue (or more with her and the H).
My book barometer (in case there are others who want to know)...
-No cheating by h/H
-No stupid misunderstanding that got dragged too long and/or because the h/H were too dumb to communicate (Juliet was awesome about this - she confronted, she trusted, she believed)
-A sort of "love triangle" that was done right; ended right. Normally, one part of the triangle would easily move on to another person and all is settled; I loved how this was "resolved" - HOT
-And finally! No cliffhanger! There's a HEA!
Looking forward to reading more Nicole Christie books. Her other one - Falling for the Ghost of You - was funny too and the reason why I bought this with ZERO reviews online. So glad I took the risk.

Couldn't stop reading it
By Book Fanatic
Starting off a review by comparing it to another book feels like cheating, but if you're like me, I like to know what I'm getting (at least a little bit ...). I thought this book was a bit like Tijan's Fallen Crest series, which I really like, but this one captured me even more. Probably because there is a bit more character development and less of the parental turmoil.
It didn't end in a cliffhanger (dislike those intensely), but did leave room for other books about the main and supporting cast. I thought the heroine Juliet was strong and funny and the heroes (yes there are two) were very distinct personalities and, for those who care about these things, yes, both were HAWT. While I can appreciate the comments about her decision-making, I felt the tone rang true for someone of her teenage years. The book is written in the first person and I loved Juliet's inner dialogue. I laughed out loud a few time (think Jillian Dodd's That Boy) which is always a barometer for intelligent writing.
I read a lot, but write very few reviews. When I come across a new writer, though, that makes me want to read the entire book again after I've just finished - that requires me to get busy and start writing.

A MUST READ
By Reader
I read the authors other book Falling For The Ghost Of You. I loved that, so was keen to read more of her work
Juliet Somers has transferred to Leclare Acadamy to be near her boyfriend Johnny Parker, all round bad boy and star of the football team. Juliet can hardly believe that an ordinary girl like her has caught his attention. But then Johnny lives up to his reputation and betrays Juliet. So for her that's it they're finished. But Johnny has other ideas and is determined to win Juliet back. His crazy stunts are at times funny, but sometimes just embarrassing.
She hates being at the new school, she's broken up with Johnny and the other girls, mostly the cheerleading squad try to make her life miserable. She does make friends with some of the other guys on the football team, mostly through her cooking skills!
Juliet at times is in a bit of a turmoil she can't forgive Johnny. But she still has feelings for him. But she does have another friend who is very supportive.
I liked this story, there's never a dull moment. There are a whole host of side characters who all have their own part to play they are very well fleshed out.
Juliet is a likeable character, though at times she did grate on me a little bit. As for Johnny I had a love/hate ting for him. He was his own worst enemy.
This is a fast moving and emotional read with a bit of angst and drama thrown in as well. There's a whole lot more to this story than I expected when I started it.
