About the Author
Antonio Raffo is a research associate at the University of Ferrara, Italy, where he teaches courses in semiconductor devices and electronic instrumentation and measurement. His research activity is mainly oriented to nonlinear electron device characterization and modeling and circuit-design techniques for nonlinear microwave and millimeter-wave applications. Antonio has coauthored over 100 publications in international journals and conferences. He is a member of the Technical Programme Committee of the IEEE INMMiC conference and serves as an associate editor of International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields. Antonio is a member of the IEEE Microwave Measurement Technical Committee (MTT-11).

Giovanni Crupi is a tenure track assistant professor at the University of Messina, Italy, where he teaches microwave electronics, laboratory of wireless technologies, bioengineering, and optoelectronics. Since 2005, he has been a repeat visiting scientist with KU Leuven and IMEC, Leuven, Belgium. Giovanni’s main research interests include small and large signal modeling of advanced microwave devices. He is a member of the Technical Programme Committee of the IEEE INMMiC and TELSIKS conferences and serves as an associate editor of International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields. Giovanni is the chair of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Fellowship program.

James F. Lee is the Head of the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Objective, balanced, and immensely beneficial.

To be honest, I was initially not expecting much based on previous experiences with free kindle books. Those dealing with neurochemistry and psychoactives seemed especially poor, appearing more like pamphlets from a pharmaceutical company than reference books. This short, but direct and concise book is written by an author who has clearly dedicated himself to researching the topic fully. I have read more "advanced" references such as "A Primer on Drug Action" and yet I have probably received more practical advice from these 47 pages than the over1000 in the former. The author achieves a great balance between not overindulging in the technical details and explaining the subtle nuances that are essential for undertanding the all too often oversimplified action of neurotransmitters. I highly reccommend this book for those struggling with cognitive hurdles that have all too often been boxed into a DSM label by a psychiatrist unwilling to expand his or her toolbox beyond basic ssri antidepressants, inappropriately used atypical antipsychotics, and neurotoxic benzodiazepines.

Easy-To-Read, Short Book on Neurotransmitters

Very Informative! I learned a ton of neurochemical details. I'm even more intrigued now by the interdisciplinary areas of neuroscience and psychology. I like the casual writing style. Some of the information is repeated excessively, and the book needs to be edited. There are many writing errors.

Smiles, Laughter, and Love - What More Do You Need?!

I love this new series by Kirsten Osbourne! This is the third book of the series and it is about Opal. What's unique is that these girls are not mail-order brides; rather, they are orphans that were sent to Texas to live. Upon arriving, they were adopted by that crazy Edna Petunia and her husband, Cletus. It doesn't take the girls long to find men wanting to marry them. Opal is a twin sister to Ruby, who was just married in book two. Opal is a sweet, helpful girl who falls in love with the adorable little Flo. Flo needs a new mother and her father happens to be absolutely attractive to Opal. Nathaniel is appreciative of the assets Opal can bring to a marriage. He's been burned before by his previous wife but appreciates a good woman when he meets one. Nathaniel meets Opal's adopted family and is a bit confused by their eccentric ways. However, he adores Opal, not Edna Petunia nor her shenanigans! This is their sweet but crazy story.

A sweet story of love and family in nineteenth century west

A lovely story about a lovely young woman, Opal. She is goodness personified. Opal fell in love with a motherless five-year-old girl, Florence, and immediately took her under her wing. Florence's father, Nathaniel quickly proposed to Opal as was the manner of the times and locale for a widower and they became a family. But all was not smooth sailing given the history with Nathaniel's first wife. But Opal's grace and goodness once again came to the fore.

This was a wonderful story, very sweet, but like most of her stories, it was way too short! I also thought it ended rather abruptly.

About the Author
Dr. Sterling was born on March 26, 1946, in San Francisco, California, and named Ronald Murray Sterling (after no particular person). He has a brother two years younger, also born in San Francisco. The Sterling family moved to Southern California in 1948 and Dr. Sterling attended schools in Hawthorne, Inglewood, and Torrance, California. He has always gone by the name Ron Sterling which often attracted comments about the "Twilight Zone" television show (that was Rod Serling). In June 1968, Dr. Sterling graduated with a B.A., major in Biology, minor in Chemistry, from Walla Walla College, College Place, Washington. In June 1972, he graduated from Loma Linda University Medical School, Loma Linda, California. In June 1975, he received Certificate of Completion for General Psychiatry from the University of Hawaii Affiliated Psychiatric Residency Program, Honolulu, Hawaii. In June 1999, he received Certificate of Completion for a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship from the University of Kansas Medical School, Wichita, Kansas. Best book to read for those with ADD/ADHD and family, friends who may not

Five-star information in a terribly written book

The author is extremely knowledgeable about the subject, and is in fact a wonderful doctor with vast experience diagnosing and treating the wide range of different types of Adult ADD. Have referred a few relatives to him with amazing results.

So it is truly unfortunate that a professional editor was not used for this book. The organization is terrible, obtuse, and the many tangents describing the author's adversarial interactions with and/or opinions about the medical establishment and pundits are off-putting in the extreme.

More than once while reading this book I just had to stop and shake my head at how tragic it is that such invaluable information and research is so poorly presented.
